St Mary's C of E Primary School & Nursery

All the children participated this morning in our our sponsored 'Sport for Champions' event. Medal winning Paralympian Bev Jones came to oversee everyone participating in the exhausting circuit exercises and she then gave an inspiring assembly. Her answers to the children's questions were fascinating, especially when she told the children how when she was a little girl the doctors told her parents that due to here cerebral-palsy, Bev would never be able to run, kick, throw or skip like other children. Five consecutive Olympics, and a medal for discus from the London 2012 games, just goes to show how wrong they were! As she explained to the children, with effort and focus you can achieve things even against the most difficult setbacks. You can read more about Bev at the website below.
