'Talks for Life' - Keeping Safe

2 June 2016 (by Russ Payne (rpayne))

Year 6 had two morning sessions with visiting speakers recently, both encouraging them to 'think safe'.

Year 6 spent an hour with Mr Lambe, a cyber security officer, discussing what keeping safe online REALLY means. It was a powerful session which got the children thinking and talking about how to stay safe online as they make their journey into their teenage years. Some materials used by Mr Lambe are available to parents and children on CEOP's Thinkuknow website (www.thinkuknow.co.uk). The following week our visitor was Mrs Rowe, who many children know from Bike Ability training. She talked with the Y6 children about keeping safe as they become more independent on their journeys in coming months and years - especially, of course, to their new secondary schools.
